Message from the Pastors

We lead people to become disciples of Jesus Christ

Hello!  We are Anthony and Briana Curran.  We have two teenagers, Sam and Zoe.  We are the lead pastors of Encounter Church, Dumas.  We’re excited to have you join us in this journey of faith, as we seek to encounter God, understand His Word, and discover and fulfil His assignment for our lives.

We have been in full-time ministry for over 20 years, serving as worship leaders, associates, and overseas church planters.  We look forward to using our experience here to bless and support your family as we pursue God together.

Our Story

Encounter Church has been located in Dumas, Texas since 1989. While the name has changed over the years, the mission has remained the same. We seek to be a community of believers following after Jesus Christ and obeying His commandments. We seek to love those around us the way Christ loves His church, and to reach out to our community and beyond to share of the Gospel of Jesus.

Our Values

We believe each and every human being is created and uniquely loved by God. We believe He has a specific plan and purpose for their life, and wants to bring that plan to pass. We believe God wants to have a personal relationship with everyone. This relationship is only made possible by the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross. We encourage you to begin your own personal relationship with the Lord and nurture that relationship daily.
